Manchester City midfield powerhouse Yaya Touré has admitted that the arrival of his international teammate Wilfried Bony will significantly strengthen City in the first to retain the Premier League title.
City have never retained the league title in the history and they are on course to fail in the attempts this season as well. This is after the sky blues trail table leaders Chelsea by two points after managing only a draw against Everton during the weekend. The season may still be a long way away from conclusion, but City have really struggled without Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine has missed important stages the season due to injuries and it seems that Manuel Pellegrini is no longer looking to take any chances with the fitness of the star striker.
City are expected to complete a deal for Wilfried Bony, who has been the top scorer in the Premier League for the 2014 calendar. The striker will cost around £ 28 million and City have agreed to pay this figure for striker at the peak of his powers. Bony came to the Premier League in 2013 for a fee of £ 12 million from the Dutch league. Touré says that Bony has enough quality to be able to score goals along with Aguero.
“Manchester City are always a club that wants important players like Bony and Aguero, they always want to progress and be at the top of the Premier League. If you want to be at the top of the Premier League you need to sign the top players and Bony is one of them at the moment. It will be tough to win the title again as Chelsea are in a good moment. It is not finished and we need to compete well and do the business and again,” said Youre.
