Yaya Aiming for Champions League

Manchester city midfielder Yaya Touré helped his club in the second league title in three seasons after a 2-0 win over West Ham. He has been one of the best players in the Premier league over the last 12 months. Despite being the midfielder, he has scored more than 20 goals this campaign. He came very close to winning the PFA Player of the Year award. After winning the second league title, Touré has stated that the club will now be aiming to lift the Champions League. It has been only three seasons of Champions League experience for the club.

They have failed to get past the last 16 stage of the competition. In the previous two attempts, they were knocked out of the group stages itself. This year, there came close to beating Spanish Giants Barcelona. After managing to achieve league domination in the last few years, the club will now be focusing on doing well in the European competitions according to Touré. The Ivory Coast midfielder has become a symbol of power, pace, and skill within the team. Many critics felt that he should have won the Player of the Year award ahead of Suarez.

City have won the title after being on top of the table for just 11 days throughout the season.

“This year was typically unbelievable. Liverpool were competing very well, Chelsea as well. We’ve been on the top of the table for a couple of days and after that in the end we won it. It’s like we never give up and continue to believe in our chance and believe that we have it. We come back brilliantly and we bounce back brilliantly and that was great. This league this season was unbelievable. It was between three clubs and after that was two clubs and in the end we won it. It’s fantastic,” said Touré.
