The happiness felt by the Manchester City fans yesterday at Selhurst Park was pretty similar to that felt by the Liverpool fans at Anfield a few days ago. There were people jumping everywhere as the final whistle was blown which was the indication of the fact that it’s the Sky Blues and not the Reds who are ahead in the league title race now.
The wily Yaya Toure starred once again for City against Crystal Palace with a goal and an assist. He was making comeback after an injury lay off actually, but, there was no sign of rustiness in his play. He looked as fluent as ever and before being taken off in the 77th minute, he was City’s best player on the park.
Although the Sky Blues are still at the third position in the league points table at the moment, but, they have got 3 games in hands unlike their other rivals Liverpool and Chelsea who have got only two.
Now, the situation is pretty controllable for City from here on. They just need to make sure that they win all their remaining games. If they do so, they will win the league because their goal differential is way better than Liverpool and Chelsea.
The three teams that City has to face in their remaining games are Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham United. They would probably win the games against Villa and West Ham easily, but, Everton is the team which can push them to their limits. So, it’s important for them to be on their toes in the game against the Toffees who will be playing on their home ground i.e. the Goodison Park.
That game will take place on 3rd of May and will start at 16:30 GMT.
