KOLO TOURE TO MEET BROTHER IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE

Celtic top signing of the summer Kolo Toure is set for a family reunion with his brother Yaya Toure in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

The former Liverpool defender reunited with his former manager Brendan Rodgers at Celtic. The Scottish champions made it to the group stage of the continental tournament after winning their play-off games.

Yaya Toure could be set to leave Manchester City as coach Pep Guardiola might not have long term plans for him. However, the Ivory Coast international featured for City as they ensured they qualified for the group stage of the Champions League, defeating Steaua Bucharest by a single goal. The aggregate ended 7-0, having massively defeated them in the first leg of the tie.

Joe Hart lost his No 1 shirt at Etihad since the Spanish tactician took over. Guardiola signed Claudio Bravo from his former club Barcelona, and he is set to be the new first choice shot stopper. Joe Hart is set to be relegated to third choice – meaning his eventual exit being a top rated goal keeper for many years.

Both players featured for City in the already won game (going from the results of the first leg), with many seeing the game as a farewell game as they could be sold before the transfer window closes. Yaya’s career is already on a gloomy path which if not handled well could mean an abrupt end in top professional football.

However, if Guardiola decide to play him in the group stage of the Champions League, he is set to meet his brother as Barcelona, Manchester City, Monchengladbach and Celtic have been drawn in Group C of the tournament. Barcelona and Man City are the two favourites to make the knockout stage.
